The post office and UPS have been bringing me goodies the last month or so. It feels almost like Christmas to me! I just had to share!
First came the canning jars and supplies. My new Jam and Jelly maker and my new juicer.
I was very excited about the arrivial of these items after finally paying off my layaway
to K-Mart for them. I would have loved to have just been able to buy them all at once
and begin to play with them right away but I didn't have the funds.
After doing some research and looking at all shops I knew did layaway, I decided to get
my jars and other basic at K-Mart. The prices were not bad at all and they had a large
selection of items to choose from.

Next to come along came my new fruit tree.
I've added a tart Montgomery Chrry Tree to my other
two fruit trees.
I now have an Apple, a Cherry and a Pear tree.
The Cherry is a bit smaller than the other two
but it's very nice looking and healthy looking.
I can't wait to get my first Cherries!!!!!

The next items to come were these little beauties! There is my new water bath canner,
blancher, colender, rack and tool kit.
I choose enamel ware because I knew the product somewhat. Mom had a big old pot when
I was a kid and I remember her doing loads with it and it working well.
I also got it because of my limited budget and the fact I couldn't do layaway on this. So I
had to be able to get it at one time, without breaking the bank. Also, with this package, I
get a bunch of handy items as well as nessecary items.

And the final arrivals are....! A 23 quart pressure canner and a recipes book for canning
without sugar.
Again, I had to watch the budget. The pressure canner got good reviews and is said to be
good for beginners. Although it's not my dream pressure canner I think between what I've
learned about it and the budget friendly price it was a good call.
As far as the book goes...

A while ago I purchased these two and some canning magazines and have dreamed and
planned what I'd make. I do plan on getting other books to join these but in trying to deal
with getting healthier as well and enjoying great fresh fruits in as close to their natural
state as possible I went looking for recipe books that used little to no sugar or a more
healthy sudstitute. "Canning and Preserving without Sugar" is the only book I've found so
far and as they didn't have many left, I jumped to get one before it was gone.
The only items I really need now are food stuff and pectin and pickling supplies. I can wait
to get started and will share with you all how it turns out when I do get to canning
something.
I hope you all are interested and look into canning yourselves! See you next time!
